Hint of Soul’s Meal Prepping Made Easy
Meal Prepping Made Easy
When it comes to supporting your everyday wellness, eating a balanced diet is one of the most important things you can do, and sticking to a healthy eating pattern might be less challenging than you think. One effective way to establish and maintain control over your diet is with a weekly meal planning routine. Having premade meals at your fingertips means mealtime is quick, easy and full of healthy, pre-approved options. On this page, we’re sharing some tips to get you started, as well as a quick and delicious recipe to help jumpstart your meal prepping journey.
Meal Prepping Tips & Tricks
It might take a bit of work in the beginning, but meal planning offers lots of advantages. Not only does having prepared meals take the stress out of mealtime, but it also makes it easy to arrange delicious and wholesome meals, every time. Plus, buying items in bulk helps keep your menu affordable. Keep your weekly meal prep straightforward by following these helpful tips and tricks:
1. Check the weekly ad to see what items are on sale. New sales start every Wednesday, making this a great time to start your planning. The sale items can help you save money on meal prep as well as provide inspiration for your upcoming meals.
2. Select two different proteins that you can use in multiple recipes and for different meals. For example, try using the same protein for breakfast and lunch, such as ground turkey bites in the morning and turkey meatballs for lunch (get the recipe below!).
3. Buy essentials items in bulk. This works especially well for items such as rice, quinoa, canned beans and pastas. Although it appears to be more expensive upfront, the larger quantity can be broken down into smaller portions, making it a more budget-friendly option in the long run.
4. Prepare to devote time to meal prepping. Cooking, portioning the food and cleaning can take hours, so it’s important to plan accordingly.
5. Prevent meal boredom by mixing and matching your ingredients. Use the same items to make a variety of options and switch up recipes often to avoid eating the same flavors every day.
If jumping into a new meal prepping routine seems too daunting, start by planning for single day or prepping just one meal for the week, such as working up Monday’s meal schedule or portioning lunches or dinners for the next few days. Even small steps can help us create valuable habits and achieve big goals
