An important component to ensuring our objective of delivering high quality and affordable healthcare in a retail setting is to provide each nurse practitioner and physician assistant with a collaborative physician (CP) from whom they can seek clinical support and consultation.

Responsibilities of the CP include:

• Completing chart reviews
• Loaded into an electronic review system for easy access at the physician’s leisure on their person PC or laptop
• Clinic visits or provider face-to-face meetings (when required by state)
• Phone consultation during regular business hours for clinical questions

Qualifications of the CP include:

• Active/Eligible Board-Certification in Family Medicine or dual in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics is preferred
• Active state license to practice medicine
• Active DEA Registration (when required by state law)
• Eligible State & Federal program participation status

The Little Clinic board-certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants are fully qualified to diagnose and treat common illnesses and minor injuries, prescribe medications as needed, conduct tests and interpret laboratory results, provide wellness and preventative care, perform physical examinations and health screenings, and administer vaccinations and injections. Our providers have direct access to collaborating physician relationships that support the delivery of quality healthcare.

Our patient care technicians are the “face to the patient” to greet and assist with registration, establish the patient record, obtain insurance information, and collect payments to maximize the patient flow through the clinic. Other duties include administrative tasks such as answering the phone, ensuring a clean and sanitary environment, assist in obtaining patient specimens, provide potential patients with scope of service information, and in some cases, assist with information and obtaining vitals.

The Little Clinic offers student-required clinical experience opportunities for nurse practitioner students associated with schools in which The Little Clinic has student affiliation agreements. There are a limited number of openings for each school and all arrangements for student clinical experiences are coordinated through the school’s clinical director.
